Two-time NBA champion will spend time aboard Brightline's Miami HEAT gameday service prior to game against Los Angeles Clippers on Jan. 23
MIAMI – January 18, 2019 – Brightline, the nation's only privately owned, operated and maintained intercity passenger rail service, will have a special treat for fans heading to the January 23 game between the Miami HEAT and Los Angeles Clippers.
Shane Battier, former HEAT star and two-time NBA champion, will serve as Brightline's first “Guest Conductor” on its “Buzzer Beater” train service ahead of next week's Clippers game. Battier will spend time with fans at MiamiCentral, where he will welcome passengers aboard the train, make station announcements, as well as interact with fans. Battier – currently the HEAT's Vice President, Basketball Development and Analytics – will greet fans in Miami, before taking a quick trip to Fort Lauderdale, before riding back into MiamiCentral with a trainload of HEAT supporters on the “Buzzer Beater.”
Battier's visit is just the latest in a season-long push by Brightline to provide fans with a fun, interactive environment aboard the “Buzzer Beater” – which provides arrivals into MiamiCentral for HEAT games at the AmericanAirlines Arena and later train departures, allowing fans to stay until the game ends.
