Congresswoman Corrine Brown Comments on All Aboard Florida Progress

Coral Gables, FL (July 10, 2014) – All Aboard Florida remains on schedule to start construction on Phase 1 and deliver passenger service between Miami and West Palm Beach with a stop in Fort Lauderdale by the end of 2016. Construction on Phase 2, which will connect Central Florida with the major South Florida markets, will commence immediately following the completion of the Final Environmental Impact Statement and publication of the Record of Decision by the Federal Railroad Administration. This second phase will deliver passenger service to Orlando by early 2017 and will coincide with the planned Automated People Mover at the Greater Orlando International Airport.

Congresswoman Corrine Brown (FL-5), Chair, House of Representatives Transportation Subcommittee on Railroads, Pipelines and Hazardous Materials said, “I look forward to the completion of the multi-modal facility at the Orlando International Airport, which, when finished, will provide multiple transportation options to both residents and visitors. I will continue to work with all of the federal agencies involved to ensure the All Aboard Florida project receives the support necessary to complete the full system from Miami to Orlando.”

Added Michael Reininger, President and Chief Development Officer, All Aboard Florida, “We continue to move forward on our planned two-phase program for this project, which began when we processed the original environmental assessment for the first phase in South Florida independent of the Environmental Impact Statement that is currently underway. We also financed the first phase independent of the second phase.”
