MIAMI, FL – July 18, 2016 – To raise awareness of how Brightline will connect the major areas of South Florida, the company is kicking off its “Brightline's South Florida Summer” social media promotion. Engaging future riders in a four week social media contest beginning today and running through August 14, participants are encouraged to snap and submit pictures via Facebook and Twitter showcasing their summer adventures in South Florida for the chance to win a series of weekly Brightline prizes.
Brightline—the first inter-city, express train service in Florida—will enter service in mid-2017 and connect the communities of Miami, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach, with extended service to Orlando to follow.
“Our goal at Brightline is not only to physically connect the communities of South Florida, but to enhance the quality of life of its residents by making it easier to discover everything this great region has to offer,” explains Julie Edwards, chief marketing officer of Brightline. “Our summer social media contest makes this a possibility, inspiring the community to use their creativity to connect with one another and show what they love most about South Florida in the summertime.”
To enter, guests should like Brightline on Facebook or follow Brightline on Twitter and then submit a photo that represents their favorite way to spend summer in South Florida (including Miami, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach), tagging @GoBrightline and utilizing the #BrightlineSummer and #GoBrightline hashtags. There will be a designated theme for each week, ranging from culinary to travel to arts and entertainment. A winner will be chosen each week and will receive a Brightline Prize Pack and a $100 Visa card, so the winners can enjoy more of their South Florida summer.
The contest's weekly themes are:
Week One: Fun in the Sun (July 18-24)
There's a reason Florida is called the Sunshine State! This week's theme encourages participants to get outside and share how they have fun in the sun around South Florida.
Week Two: Florida Foodies (July 25-31)
The cuisine of South Florida is as diverse as the people who live there, with strong influences from its surrounding southern states, Latin America and the Caribbean. This week asks for South Floridians to dish up their favorite local tastes, whether cooking at home or out exploring the area's most mouthwatering restaurants.
Week Three: Arts/Entertainment (Aug. 1-7)
With a rich history and culture as deep as the ocean that frames it, South Florida is renowned for its arts and entertainment offerings. From visiting the Norton Museum in West Palm Beach to exploring the unique shops along Las Olas Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale, this week allows participants to share what gets their creative juices flowing.
Week Four: Fitness / Sports (Aug. 8-14)
Whether it's the year-round warm weather or beaches and lush tropical landscapes that make a perfect backdrop to any workout routine, South Florida is a fitness-lovers paradise. As one of the nation's leaders in resident pro athletes, the professionals agree. This week allows contest participants—both active partakers and spectators—to take a healthy interest in their South Florida summer.
