March 29, 2018- Today, Brightline and the City of Fort Lauderdale teamed up to provide a special experience to 160 of the City's spring break campers and chaperones. At Brightline's downtown Fort Lauderdale Station, campers were given an important safety presentation by Brightline representatives, as well as the City of Fort Lauderdale's Police and Fire Rescue Departments. The friendly police mascot, McGruff, and fire mascot, Sparky, were also on-site to join in on the fun and assist with the safety lessons. The presentation concluded with all children taking the pledge to stay safe around active railroad tracks. Working to inform and educate local youth is central to ensuring their safety and many others, as they also help spread the message to their families and friends about the importance of staying off railroad tracks.
